The American Sign Museum is a museum dedicated to preserving, archiving, and displaying a collection of commercial signs. Tod Swormstedt started the collection in 1999, and opened the museum to the public in 2005. Today, over 500 signs and other objects are on display in the museum, and over 3,800 items are in the collection. Many of the signs are displayed on a faux streetscape in a town called "Signville". The collection spans from the late nineteenth century to the 1970s.
