OH, THE FUN IN FUNDRAISING

Now that my wife and I have signed up to participate in this trip, we now need to figure out how to pay the $5,900 combined cost of the trip.
The organizers of the trips encourage people to reach out to their family, friends, neighbors, etc. to ask for financial support. As Christians, we believe that we belong in community, and by involving others in the finances of a trip, we can be in community together, united in serving others.
I see the value of fundraising, but that doesn't mean it is easy. I find it uncomfortable asking people for money.
I am trusting in God as I sit down to write a letter asking for support. Some things that I am praying for:

- That people will see the value in what I am doing and be willing to generously partner with me, both prayerfully as well as financially
- That people see my request not as a handout but as a partnership
- That the people I ask will be connected with me on this trip
- That people's responses will provide encouragement and support to me
